NOVEMBER, AGAIN

November is here, again, already. I don’t know how that happens. Summer came and went in a flash. Already Lily Pond has a coating of ice. Everything is dry and brown, except for some moss That covers some fallen logs. The pups and I are enjoying a walk on a mid 40s sunny afternoon along the Whitney Brook Trail, our favorite place to walk no matter the season. The beauty of Lily Pond never disappoints and there is still enough open areas around the ice for the pups to get a cold drink of water. We walk all the way to the waterfall at Middle Bridge. We meet no one else on the trail today. The pups have a great time (on leash, of course) with lots of new things to sniff. I am not a fan of colder weather. But it really is a lovely day. The snow will come. I will bring my snowshoes and look for animal tracks, all the while looking forward to seeing the skunk cabbage emerging as the ground begins to thaw again in spring.
